Plan for the Future Bil-Mar Restaurant
Grand Haven Michigan
No formal site plan has been submitted, but many
informal drawing have been made. This one submitted in the spring of 2004
shows a building with five floors: two floors of parking below grade - one
below and one above ground. two floors of restaurant, and a roof deck.
During the summer of 2005 an informal drawing was shown to a planning
commission work session that
- eliminated the roof deck but had a large stairwell
to the roof,
- had wings on the north and south side that exceeded
the zoning height limit,
- had no deck, but had a balcony on the west side
(lake side) of the building,
- had underground parking that extended to the
lot line, and
- had a large illuminated waterfall cascading down
the east side of the building.
At the meeting everyone agreed that the sand would
probably erode above the underground parking. The environmental consultant
retained by the Bil-Mar's owners said that they would do "sand nourishment"
from time to time to correct that problem as it arises.
